Andie Marks
Registered Social Worker
Welcome! I’m Andie (she/her), a bilingual Registered Social Worker with the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers. I offer in-person counselling in Fredericton and virtual sessions across New Brunswick for individuals 12 years and older.
I hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Social Work from Dalhousie University.
My background includes over 10 years working in the non-profit sector, walking alongside survivors of sexual trauma through community development, policy, and advocacy work. I have also spent many years supporting families as a birth and postpartum doula, trained through Doulas of North America (DONA), where I was invited into some of life’s most vulnerable and meaningful moments with parents and growing families.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, person-centered, and grounded in an awareness of the structural factors that can impact our wellbeing. I believe therapy should be collaborative and flexible, and I work to create a space that feels safe, non-judgmental, and responsive to your needs.
In my work, I draw from a blend of approaches including somatic healing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-focused therapy, narrative therapy, and strengths-based practices. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in reconnecting with your strengths and experiences.
My areas of focus include:
• Perinatal mental health
• Trauma support
• Grief and loss — particularly grief connected to chronic illness or health challenges
• Anxiety
• Life transitions
I hope to offer a space where you can show up as you are and feel truly seen and supported.
I look forward to meeting you.
